Power for Nottingham City Council

D&B are delighted to have completed our latest UPS installation, consisting of 2 x Riello MHT300P Static UPS for Nottingham City Council.

The clients' current UPS had given them 20 years of service but due to age and inefficiency, it required updating. Nottingham City Council required that the UPS was changed with minimum amount of down time to their building and with little effect to the staff.

This particular contract posed a number of obstacles to overcome, which were effectively managed by our contracts and installation teams.

The UPS installation was housed on the 6th floor of the council building and required significant logistical planning. In order to get the UPS and batteries to their destination and further remove the old UPS from the roof, the use a crane was necessary. And due to the 6th floor location, we had to accommodate the loading to the building structure and roof.

We worked closely with Nottingham City Council, the occupants of the building and their Facilities Manager to devise and agree a plan that would keep disruption to a minimum. Our weekend, out of hours plan meant that work started at close of business on Friday and we ensured that everything was back up and running again, ready for Monday morning.
